And on the 82nd day...

…the afrowelshman arose from the slumber of self imposed exile and spoke forth on a matter of utmost importance.

Well after that beginning this had better be good. But before I get to that I have to say a big thanks to my fellow mutant-basher Bill. Despite the ridiculous gap between postings he still found the time and energy to pass comment on his completion of Fallout 3 and not a single comment berating my lazyassedness made its way on to the page. Bill I salute your patience and your admission that (like me) you also have no idea why the end of the game involved sacrificing yourself when there was a perfectly good radiation proof mutant standing around looking bored. I haven’t found the alien crash site yet either, but I do have a sudden urge to start a new game by blowing the shit out of Megaton.

Oh, and in other news my wife is having a baby.

Now some may view the offhand way I just threw it in there (the comment I mean rather than the actual conception) with not even an underline or font change as an indication that I am uninterested in this monumental event.

Let me tell you that nothing could be further from the truth (couldn’t find the font icon so you’ll have to make do with Ctrl-b, Ctrl-u and Ctrl-i)

It’s been a pretty rough couple of months leading up to this point and right now my overwhelming feeling is one of relief that my amazing wife and our future first born afrowelshman are both healthy. There are probably a hundred blog postings I could write (and wanted to write) on the lows and lowers of the past couple of months, but I think that’s a chapter best closed hence I’m now focusing on the positives.

…and that’s plenty “feel the joy” hippy nonsense for one day. One has a certain cynical image to uphold.

So, the ETA for the little bundle of joy is the 27th April, just in time for T to get back on the sauce for her 30th birthday.

Roswell...be afraid...

Anyway, this isn’t news to anyone I’m sure as some woman who claims to be my wife has already leaked it to Facebook.

So much for the coordinated press release.

Many, many congratulations to you both on your happy news.

I assume you'll be kitting out a music room in preparation? I mean, if we couldn't do it, then surely our children are obliged to conquer the world!

Much love to you both.

Thanks guys! Much appreciated

I only hope that the child will have enough sense to forsake drums and guitar in favour of the wonder that is bass.
